St Andrew's Uniting Church, cnr Creek & Ann Street, Brisbane             to view and print PDF files. It's free!

Following the success of our Mozart Requiem from Scratch in 2003, Brisbane Concert Choir is pleased to invite singers from South East Queensland and beyond to take part in a rehearsal and performance of the beautiful Fauré Requiem. For further details please view and print our Flyer and Registration Form.

‘From Scratch’ performances are usually done in one day. A popular work is rehearsed and performed together with the hosting choir, accompanied by organ. We, however, have a professional orchestra and soloists, and an international conductor, Rita Paczian. All singers are welcome. You don’t have to belong to a choir to take part. In fact, it’s a great way for ‘shower-only' singers to take it to the next level. It’s easy, and it’s fun. Take the plunge!

For an all inclusive price of $26, you receive a copy of the music to keep, afternoon tea, a delicious dinner, and the opportunity to take part in a performance of this wonderful work. For an additional fee of $3,  we will post the music out to you in advance, so that you can do a little private practice on it, and perhaps allow you to get even more enjoyment from the day. Because there will be many singers present who have performed the work before, you don't have to be perfect. If you make a few mistakes, no one will know. The important thing is to have fun and help to make it an event to be remembered.

There will be a limited number of seats available for supporters to be in the audience for the performance only for $5.00.

Because of the popularity of this work, we anticipate that all of the available places will be taken up before bookings close. Therefore, if you wish to sing with us, it is essential to book in advance to reserve your seat. We are limited, by our venue and by our catering facilities, to a fixed number of participants. When we reach this number we will reluctantly have to decline further acceptances.

How to Book

Bookings can be made by printing out the Registration Form and mailing it together with a cheque for $29 (to have music posted out) OR a cheque for $26 (to collect your music on the day). Please make cheques payable to Brisbane Concert Choir, and post to Brisbane Concert Choir, 29 Northam Avenue, Bardon  QLD  4065. We must receive your cheque by Friday, 6th August at the latest. (Choir groups may prefer to register and pay as a group in order to save costs on mailing out music. However, we still need a registration form filled out by each participant, with the choir name on top of the form. Please phone or email for details). There is no electronic payment facility available at this time.

For further information, please check our FAQ list and our Details Page. If your question has still not been answered, contact Ian Maurer by email or telephone (07) 3369 4866. If you already have a copy of the music, you may choose to save a tree and sing from that copy. If so please indicate on your Registration Form that you do not require music. Unfortunately, there is no reduction in price, but you do get to enjoy that warm and fuzzy feeling for doing the right thing by our planet. The edition which we are using is published by the Choral Public Domain Library at www.cpdl.org , and has been printed and bound for ease of use. You might like to verify that your edition matches the one we will be using in order to avoid frustration.

Further detail will be added to this page as we get closer to the event, so bookmark our site and check it regularly. If you supply your email address on your Registration Form, you will be notified promptly of any changes.

SEE YOU THERE ON SATURDAY, 14th AUGUST 2004 !!!
