Fauré Requiem 'from scratch' - 14th August 2004
Adele Nisbet, soprano, is Head of Vocal Studies, and Lecturer in Voice and Vocal Pedagogy at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. While completing her formal training she was awarded the Conservatorium Medal for Excellence and was National Winner of the prestigious ABC Instrumental and Vocal Competition. Since this time she has endeavoured to maintain parallel performing and teaching careers.
She has appeared with the Brisbane Concert Choir on a number of occasions, the most recent being April 2003 (Beethoven's Magnificat) and November 2003 (Vivaldi's Magnificat).
Guy Booth is completing the final year of Bachelor
of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium, and has commenced 2004 by winning the
Geoffrey Black Scholarship for Baritone.
Since entering the Conservatorium in 2001, Guy has performed roles in
conservatorium productions of Going into Shadows, Burning Fiery
Furnace (staged in St Andrew's Uniting Church), Pilgrim's Progress,
and the critically acclaimed Semele, as well as appearing in Opera
Queensland productions of Verdi's Requiem and Tosca. In 2002, he
won the NFA Dame Joan Sutherland Aria competition (including people's choice
award), and in 2003 he attended Neil Semer's Summer Masterclass in Germany.
This is Guy's first performance with Brisbane Concert Choir.
