Flyer for Handel's Dixit Dominus concert 17 April 2011

For our opening concert we present a program of all Handel works. Dixit Dominus was written in the Baroque style early in his career in Italy.

Soloists Monique Latemore, Laura Coutts, Nicki Jenkins, Jack Parakh-Morgan and Luke Stoker join with Brisbane Concert Choir, the Sinfonia of St Andrew's and musical director Debra Shearer-Dirié to present this dazzling work.

Handel's Jubilate Deo forms part of another early work commissioned to celebrate the Peace of Utrecht. Our soloists will also be performing well-known arias from operas Rinaldo and Xerxes, including the famous Handel's Largo.

The choir and soloists will also present excerpts from Solomon, while the Sinfonia gets its own solo opportunity with the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.

Tickets:   $29 adult,  $24 concessions,  $75 family,  $12 student   (All tickets are General Admission).

Flyer for ANZAC concert 21 April 2011

A free concert sponsored by the RSL to celebrate Anzac Day. This concert will feature the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Brisbane Concert Choir and Queensland Choir in a program of well-known tunes.
Venue: Southbank Piazza, South Brisbane.

Caffè Bella Melodia - As we get ready for our tour to Italy in September, we would like to invite you to enjoy an afternoon of Italian food, fun and song.

Musical entertainment includes Italian madrigals by Vecchi, Banchieri, Monteverdi and Gastoldi, opera choruses and solos by Verdi and Puccini (including Brindisi from La traviata, La donna e mobile from Rigoletto, and traditional and popular Italian songs including Funiculi funicula, Tiritomba and Santa lucia.

Adults $35 Concession $30 including food and beverages. Tables seat up to 8 - come with friends, or make some new ones!

Flyer for Armed Man from scratch event 16 July 2011

Each year we invite everyone to join with us for a day to workshop and perfom a large choral work with orchestra and soloists.
Last year's Carmina Burana day was huge. This year we expect to host more than 200 singers for The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins.

Flyer for Arrivederci concert 4 Eep 2011

Come along and say "arrivederci" as we head off to tour northern Italy for a little over two weeks.

This a cappella concert will feature sacred, classical and popular music we will be performing in concert and during mass in St Mark's Basilica, Venice.

The concert begins with madrigals by Weelkes, Monteverdi, Vecchi, Arcadelt, and Gastoldi. Other featured composers from around the world include Elgar (My love dwelt in a northern land), Biebl (Ave Maria), Kodaly, Childs, Stanford, Hogan (Hear My Prayer) and Lauridsen (O Magnum Mysterium).

And in preparation for the many farewells on tour ... Time to Say Goodbye.

Poster for A Christmas Fable concert 4Dec2011

Bring the whole family to listen to this charming story of how the carol In Dulci Jubilo came to be sung at Christmas time, and the part played by Sigismund the donkey.
And sing along with choir and orchestra performing your favourite carols.
